1st eco-rally of the Pôle Métropolitain Nîmes-Alès 24-25-26 June 2016
The eco-rally is supported by the Pôle Métropolitain Nîmes-Alès thanks to the respective competences of Alès Agglomération and Nîmes Métropole.
This sporting event is part of the alternative energy challenge for the French motor sports federation, but is also open to international teams after its inscription to the CPEA (Compétition à participation étrangère autorisée).
Paris hosts the French round for the formula-e world championship just as well the Pôle Métropolitain Nîmes-Alès hosts the French round for the electric vehicules world championship.
Our objectives are to:
Encourage sustainable development and eco-mobility
Promote the cooperation of both agglomeration communities in the new Languedoc Roussillon Midi Pyrénées region
Make discover the PMNA territory to the general public through an unsual event
This rally will be subject to the observation of the International automobile federation in order to be part of the ecological vehicles world championship in 2017.
The eco-rally will then become the only French round of this world championship!
After the formula-e event of Paris, the Pôle Métropolitain Nîmes-Alès would promote renewable energies in international eco-rally events.
60 teams of one driver and one co-driver would have been at the departure of the eco-rally.
It allows any owners of ecological vehicle (electric and hybrid cars) to participate to this regularity rally which take place at the same time of the Rallye du Gard, part of the French rally championship.
By proposing to discover a territory in board of a passenger vehicle, this eco-rally bring back to the essentials of car rally.
Participants will be decided between race time and vehicle consumption. Rules are to be as close as possible to the imposed average speed (max 49,9km/h) and to consume as little energy as possible.
On our territory, motorsport is combined with respect of the environment!
